Today we are going to learn about:

HEIGHT AND DISTANCE:

One of the important application of the TRIGNOMENTRY is finding the height and distance.

TWO IMPORTANT OF FACTORS CONSIDERED IN THE HEIGHT AND DISTANCE ARE:

• ANGLE OF ELEVATION
• ANGLE OF DEPRESSION

 

• The angle of elevation and the angle of depression can be easily explained from the above picture.
• The man seeing the aeroplane above his/her level of eye forms the angle of elevation.
• Any angle formed by considering the above object is known as angle of elevation.
• The man seeing the ship below his/her level of eye forms the angle of depression.
• Any angle formed by considering the below object is known as angle of elevation.

There are three section of formulas to be known:

• Basic trignometric formulas
• Values of the T-ratios
• Trignometric identities

Basic trignometric formulas

 

These are the basic to be known

In addition to this we need the respective angle ration values

Values of the T-ratios

 

With this two formulas we can easily identify any one among the angle,perpendicular,base and hypoteneous by solving the other values given.

Trignometric identities

 

These formulas are used for customizations of complex expression into simple expressions
